CRONINS CIDER
As part of my Work Place Placement module I have decided to redesign the branding pack for Cronin's Cider. Cronin's Cider is a small Irish drinks company based out of Wexford, that created a Cider using all natural ingredients and processes with the goal of making an extraordinary drink that would appeal to both traditional cider drinkers, enthusiasts and to those to whom cider has remained a mystery.

In my opinion the current branding does not appeal to a number of demographics. I feel these potential cider drinkers would be disinterested in the brand based solely on how the bottle is presented.
Having tasted this incredible cider I found that the drink would very much appeal to my age group, however, I discovered that none of my peers had ever heard of it. So I set out to redesign the brand to appeal to the up-incoming Cider drinker without excluding the current customer. I also felt there was a massive opportunity to create something so eye-catching and contemporary that it could potentially become a social media phenomenon.
Initially I set about redesigning the logo itself. I wanted to maintain it's vintage flair while also creating a sleek, ultra-modern twist. My aim was to create something instantly recognisable and I felt the best way of doing this was to play with strong, bold colours contrasting with the paired back vintage logo.

My design concept was to use a very simple black bottle with the logo printed directly on to the glass. To balance this simplicity I wanted to create an 'Instagramable' design feature using multicoloured bottle tops. This bold statement would definitely encourage both social media influencers and young people in general to post Instagram Stories and pictures with the Cider. This in an invaluable tool for any brand as it leads to free marketing and publicity. Another advantage to this new contemporary take on the bottle will allow it to sit comfortably in high end bars, hotels and restaurants which could potentially expand the market for the brand.
